About Me
Lexie Woodroof is a London-based Director, Intimacy Director, Producer, and Teacher whose work spans new writing, musical theatre, and socio-political comedy. Her practice centres on bold, actor-focused storytelling that explores complex tensions such as humour and harm, control and chaos.
Passionate about ensemble-led and consent-based processes, Lexie creates safe and collaborative rehearsal environments where actors can engage deeply with challenging material. Originally from the U.S., she has worked across the UK and internationally, with recent credits including Kin-DREAD! (2025), Punk Rock (2025), and Split: Part 1 (2024).
Whether directing a musical, staging a scratch piece, or facilitating intimacy, Lexie is committed to building rehearsal rooms where artists feel empowered to create daring, rigorous, and truthful work — together. Lexie’s passion for theatre showcase entertainment with the darker truths of our world.
Lexie holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Northern Kentucky University, and a MFA in Theatre Directing from the University of East London. She is set to complete her Intimacy Certification with IDC Professionals next year. Alongside her directing work, Lexie is dedicated to education and youth arts, supporting emerging artists and young performers through workshops and formal study.
